Empowering everyone to protect their rights with the Big Give Challenge 2024

This has been a year filled with change and uncertainty. Cuts to legal aid and changing laws have left many people unable to access legal advice and support.

That’s why we’re taking part in the 2024 Big Give Christmas Challenge to raise funds for Liberty’s amazing Human Rights Legal Information Service, which offers human rights advice to those who needs it.

Donate during this week and your gift will be matched by a group of our generous supporters.

That means for every £10 you give, we’ll receive £20 – at no extra cost to you.

Every single penny goes to our amazing Human Rights Legal Information Service, which helps the public to know their rights and stand up to power. In just the last few months the service has trained student activists, community groups, disability rights campaigners and many more understand the impact of new laws on protest rights in the UK. Our detailed workshops and free online advice hub are invaluable to movements across the UK.

Each year, we provide workshops and written information to grassroots groups, activists, and others standing up for justice and equality. We produce online information guides on a range of human rights and civil liberties issues, including protest rights, police interactions, Prevent and the criminalisation of those experiencing homelessness. Just recently, we provided hundreds of students at UK universities with the training they need to stand up to power with confidence – whether at university or later in life. We’re helping to equip the next generation to take up the fight for our fundamental rights.

In the year ahead, the team wants to help thousands more people stand up for progressive change. To help them achieve this, we need to raise £35,000.

This is a really ambitious target – but with your help we think we can get there.
